Notes

On May 2, 1902, R. E. Hastings was the first member of the Brethren church to come to the Wenatchee Valley. In the spring of 1903 Amos Benjamin Peters his wife and three children with eight other families of the Brethren church came from Cando, North Dakota to live in the valley. The group formed a settlement in the Sunnyslope area of Wenatchee. The Sunnyslope Church of the Brethren was built in 1904, on land donated by Author Gunn.

On March 21 of 1903 Lizzie Baughman daughter of Amos Benjamin Peters died of pneumonia at the age of 35. Interment was made near the church site. This created the Sunnyslope Cemetery. The cemetery is now used by the community.
