Cemetery Information

Notes

Also referred to as the Indian Burial Ground, Manson Indian Cemetery and Mill Bay Cemetery.

This cemetery was started, following the formation of a church at this site, by early Catholic missionaries, adding the burial place next to the church. In 1952 the church was destroyed by fire, leaving only the cemetery on the site. First burials were primarily the Wapato family, who are members of the Moses Band of the Columbia Indians. In later years additional people were reburied here, displaced from other burial sites.
