Along the Apple Capital Recreational Loop Trail (westside), the Horan Natural Area, part of the Wenatchee Confluence State Park, consists of ninety-seven acres of natural environment, wetlands and animal life.
There is a possibility of seeing many types of wildlife while walking the trails of the wetlands, such as, foxes, muskrats, otters, and raccoons. Do keep a eye out for snakes and skunks as you may encounter them as well. It is also not uncommon to see eagles and hawks flying overhead.
The Horan Natural Area can be reached by following the Apple Capital Recreational Loop Trail (westside) South from Wenatchee Confluence State Park or Northwest from Walla Walla Point Park.
