Wells Dam

Named after Aflred Z. Wells, a sucessful orchardist, the Wells Dam Hydroelectric Project is owned and operated by the Douglas County Public Utility District. Although only a small portion, the dam is also owned by the Okanogan County Public Utility District. Wells dam began commercial power generation in August, 1967.

The visitor and viewpoint area for Wells Dam is located on the Chelan County side of the dam. That is why the dam is located under areas of interest for Chelan County.
