At 1,486 feet deep, Lake Chelan is the third deepest freshwater lake in the United States. The lake is fed by the Stehekin River and creeks from the North Cascades Mountains. Water from the lake is drained through the Chelan River.
The lakes shoreline is full of campgrounds and Lake Chelan State Park. Many lakeside resorts and retreats can be found in the cities of Chelan, Manson, and Stehekin.
