Last Thursday at about 12:30 at night I was coming back from Malaga and saw a meteorite fall about a 100 feet in front of me. It was surrounded in a deep blue flame that went out about 50 feet from the ground. It landed about 20 feet from the highway. It was probably only about the size of a baseball. This happened somewhere between three lakes and the train yards.
I have only seen one other meteorite in my life and that happened about 10 years ago coming back from Chelan. I was somewhere between Orondo and East Wenatchee and saw it land about 50 feet to the side of me in an apple orchard. This one stayed the same blue color until it hit the ground.
Both times it was late at night on an unlit section of highway. Makes me wonder if meteorites fall all the time but we just can't see them.
