Just before Grand Coulee Dam, the Columbia River runs into Douglas, Grant and Okanogan Counties. From Grand Coulee Dam, the Columbia River twists and turns as it heads east between Douglas and Okanogan Counties where it will travel through the Chief Joseph Dam before heading north, then west to Brewster. From Brewster the river will continue southwest until it reaches Pateros. From Pateros, the river heads south where it soon leaves Okanogan County when Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan Counties meet. The river will pass through Wells Dam, Rocky Reach Dam and Rock Island Dam before finally leaving Douglas County. The map points to the spot where the Columbia River leaves Douglas County near Trinidad.
