The Columbia National Wildlife Refuge consists of 23,000 acres of Channeled Scablands of the Columbia River Basin. The refuge consists of sagebrush, grassy uplands, canyons, buttes, and lakes. The area is known as the Drumheller Channels and was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1986.

Camping can be found at the Soda Lake Campground.
The wildlife refuge is 23,000 acres and has multiple access points. The refuge is located in an area south of State Route 262 (O'Sullivan Road SE), north of State Route 26 and west of State Route 17 (Highway 17 South).
